About this opportunity: 

Best Starts Youth Development seeks to promote the mental health and well-being of young people in a welcoming way to help them to feel connected and supported. The strategies this RFP focuses on are:

  1. Mentoring;
  2. Youth leadership and engagement opportunities;
  3. Activities that promote positive identity development; and
  4. Healthy and safe relationships, including resources for mental health, domestic/intimate partner violence Prevention, and peer to peer support.

These types of programs have shown to give youth the tools they need to get through challenging life experiences. Competitive proposals will demonstrate youth involvement in the planning, implementation, and Evaluation of the proposed programs and will address disparities that disproportionately affect specific populations of youth.

Eligibility:  

This RFP is open to nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, tribes and tribal organizations, for-profit entities, and public or governmental agencies serving communities in King County. Small nonprofits and community-based organizations are encouraged to submit applications.

Funding available:  

Approximately $12,000,000 is available through Best Starts to support the work described in this RFP.

The maximum award amount proposers may request is up to $400,000 contract. Funds should be aligned with proposed strategies outlined in the proposal.
