Child care workers and employers: We want to hear from you!

Applications for the Best Starts for Kids Wage Boost Pilot opened February 10 and we want to make sure we hear from child care workers and employers about their experience and well-being.

Directors and owners who apply or have already applied should receive an email or text message with an invitation to participate in a 20-minute survey about their experiences as a child care provider. This invitation should be shared with all employees at the child care facility.

This survey is an important part of evaluating the Wage Boost Pilot and is open to anyone working in the King County child care field with an interest in the Wage Boost Pilot.

  • If you are a director or owner of a King County child care facility, please share the survey invitation you receive with all your employees.
  • If you are a King County child care provider and did not receive the link from your employer, please email our team at BSKWageBoostEval@urban.org. You may take this survey even if you aren’t sure whether your employer applied for the Best Starts Wage Boost Pilot.

We want to hear from you to help King County understand the well-being and experiences of the workforce. The survey includes questions about:

  • Your satisfaction with your job and the supports you receive at work
  • Your financial well-being
  • Your emotional well-being
  • Your social, community, and spiritual well-being
  • Your physical health and stress

Taking the survey will enter you into a raffle to win one of 100 gift cards, valued at $100 each. The survey is available in English, Somali, Spanish (Español), Chinese (简体中文), and Arabic (العربية). Paper surveys are also available, if preferred.
